Who owns My Porchlight? Do you take outside funding?
My Porchlight is founder-owned. We don’t do marketing, and we take no external funding — at all — with no intention of taking any or of selling the company. The company is built to be small: we never need to grow faster than we need to, so there’s no investor or growth target pushing us to squeeze more out of you. And if ownership ever did change, clients would get 3–6 months’ notice to remove their personal information first.
Do providers pay to be recommended?
Never. Providers can’t pay, sponsor, or advertise their way into a recommendation — we have no referral deals and take nothing from anyone we recommend. Your assistant is paid by you, works for you, and will even tell you who owns a company (including private equity) so you know who profits from the service.
What happens to my information?
It stays yours. We never sell your personal information, we never post anywhere on your behalf, and analytics run only on our public pages — never inside your account. You can ask us to delete your account and personal information at any time, and if the company ever changed hands you’d get 3–6 months’ notice to remove it first.
Where is My Porchlight available?
